We are looking for a Design Technician who would have a supportive role in the Design and Visual Arts classes.
The school is located in Almere Poort on walking distance from Almere Poort train station.
Role and responsibility:
We currently require a School DT Technician. This is an open vacancy for a full-time position to start in the new academic year in October and to be distributed over the two departments Design and Visual arts.
Ensuring all materials and equipment (including tools and machinery, including 3D printing) are ready for practical lessons and demonstrations, liaising with teaching staff for lesson planning
Cleaning and storage of all equipment and stock, keeping workshops and classrooms tidy
Maintaining all relevant paperwork, including stocktaking and orders for new stock or equipment
Undertaking of safety checks and routine maintenance of workshop equipment and systems
Observing strict Health and Safety guidelines and keeping knowledge of this up-to-date
Assisting teaching staff in the running of practical sessions for pupils, interacting with the children, and undertaking other duties as directed by the department staff
A strong knowledge of the Design Technology curriculum and a genuine interest in Resistant Materials (wood, plastic or metalwork)
Previous experience of working within a school workshop is desirable
Relevant qualifications in using various workshop machinery such as saws and drills would be an advantage Competencies and profile:

Highly developed organisational skills; with an ability to complete tasks appropriately and effectively

The package will be commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and will include the following elements:
Salary depending on previous experience and qualifications, a Holiday and an End of Year payment according to the CAO (Collective Labour Agreement) for OOP (support staff)

The start date of the initial contract is from 1 January 2019
