Role DescriptionThe Scientist will become member in the Molecular Bioassay group that is responsible for the development of methods that are employed to analyze and characterize virus based vaccines. Product analysis includes tests for quantity, potency, purity, and identity, but also detailed structural characterization of vaccines. You will work in a multidisciplinary team and your main task will be to develop bioassays for the characterization of vaccines that are produced with the PER.C6® technology.
ResponsibilitiesAssay development activities will mainly focus on assays that measure vaccine potency and vaccine purity. These include different formats, but will have a focus on ELISA, (q)PCR and cell culture-based assay systems. The Scientist independently hypothesizes, designs and reports assay development or optimization activities with hands-on involvement. Further responsibilities will be to leverage the work of project members to meet project checkpoints and accomplish team objectives on time and within budget.
Requirements- Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) with relevant industry experience OR a MSc degree with 3 years of pharma company experience - profound knowledge of bioassay development in cell and molecular biology (techniques as ELISA, qPCR, cell culture, virus culture) - flexible work attitude and a can-do mentality - strong communication skills and take ownership of your assignments
