Role DescriptionThe Head of marketing is responsible for driving the consistent implementation of the Companion Animal Group (CAG) international marketing strategies in support of the International business strategies. The marketing strategies are translated into fact-based, scalable go-to-market solutions that meet customer and market needs and deliver on commercial priorities, growth and profitability goals in the short- and long-term.
The International marketing team is structured to follow the three CAG international market clusters. The clusters are defined by the potential of the market and the market position of the company. In this role, the leader is responsible for cluster ‘Drive In-House’ including France, Belgium, Central & Eastern Europe and South Africa. The business opportunity for the countries in this cluster is to strengthen the position in the in-house market by focusing on accelerating the growth of instrument placements.
The position will be focused exclusively on the ‘Drive In-house’ cluster business and will work intensively with the European marketing leaders, the respective cluster General Managers and regional Vice President. The position is based out in HQ in Noord-Holland and will report to the Senior Director International Marketing CAG

Responsibilities• Develop thorough understanding of the countries within the cluster. Understand market and customer dynamics, developments, future outlook, competitor presence. Understand and be sensitive to and cultural differences
• Facilitate the upstream information flow of market and customer data, competitor developments, marketing materials, local marketing plans, ROI or activities and evaluate and share marketing opportunities. Participate in the development of international CAG marketing strategies and derive the cluster marketing- and portfolio strategy accordingly.
• Ensure downstream flow of information regarding the CAG international marketing strategies, cluster strategies, priorities and business and financial goals.
• Formulate cluster marketing strategy and lead the deployment and development of country specific marketing plans and activities
• Overseeing the implementation of the pricing strategies and commercial programs within the cluster.
• Closely collaborating and aligning with the commercial teams to ensure consistency in execution of the priorities to deliver on the business goals.
• Responsible for facilitating cross cluster and bi-directional collaboration on the cluster specific topics -> acquisition strategy for the ‘Drive in-house’ cluster.
• Guide and monitor the correct and consistent implementation of branding, brand architecture, nomenclature, medical value messaging, positioning of new and existing product lines, portfolio and the company (corporate level).
• Create and foster alliances with industry Key Opinion Leaders in support of the business within the cluster.
• Build organizational capabilities primarily by aligning, coaching and training others in the areas of marketing goal setting, annual plan development and other marketing practices and tools.
• Provide effective leadership. Manage team, assign work to ensure right allocation and availability of resources, monitor activities, evaluate performance and manage escalated/critical issues.
• Manage the ‘Drive in-house’ cluster OPEX budget. Develop and oversee cluster marketing financials (lead budget setting); forecast revenues and marketing expenses (through monitoring and control).

RequirementsTo be successful in this position you are working in leading a matrix structured team of professionals in a large international organization in a similar kind of industry. This combined with a solid track record (10 years plus) in both Sales and Marketing. You master the art of collaboration and interpersonal skills and will bring examples that show this as this role will requests you to work with a lot of our front-line leaders across multiple locations. You will be doing this with a problem solving positive and proactive mentality balancing the marketing vs sales prioritization driving the commercial growth. Strong experience in managing projects and budgets and multi-stakeholder management are critical skills that we will be looking for in our fast-growing environment. As this position deals with a large European region you feel comfortable with traveling and keeping your frequent flyer miles up to date.
