Role DescriptionAs business development manager you are responsible for the growth and maintenance of the relationships with a limited number of important global pharmaceutical concerns. You are responsible for the sales within the Pharmaceutical Fine Chemical department.

Responsibilities• You are responsible for the full relationship management with a limited number of important global pharmaceutical concerns.
• You capture new products and develop relationships in order to expand business at the key account. You actively promote our activities and the added value of our services.
• You are responsible for drawing up supply agreement contracts, price proposals and contract negotiations in order to achieve margin improvement.
• You provide feedback about progress and occurring issues to the key account.
• You manage changes in customer requests and discuss the commercial impact with the customer.
• You actively participate in defining and realizing the strategic business sales plan, overall and of your customer base, including valorisation of new and existing business.
• You have frequent interactions with the project management team, which closely monitors the implementation of the supply agreement, as well as with the plant- and production team.
• You develop a good insight in the production cost calculation and production capacity. You are able to secure the needed resources and priorities for your key account products.
• You possess or are ready to acquire a thorough understanding of the market (competitors, trends, conditions, …)
• You participate in sales supporting activities together with you colleagues of the sales team, e.g. participation to trade events and seminars, development of website content, mailings, presentation materials, etc.
• You report to the head of Sales - Europe & Japan of your business unit

Requirements• You possess a Master, Bio-engineer or PhD degree in sciences, preferably in organic chemistry or industry processes
• You have at least 5 to 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a commercial B to B role. You possess a proven track record in building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• You are a persuasive communicator and an excellent negotiator. You are able to identify, negotiate and complete important contracts.
• You are a flexible, decisive and result-oriented professional. You are able to settle conflicts in an effective way.
• You have a good insight in business finance and financial principles.
• You are fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other languages (Dutch, French, German,…) constitutes a plus.
• You are willing to travel in Europe
